Ice cream is a whipped, frozen dessert made from milk, milk fat, and milk-derived ingredients, such as cream, eggs, and sweeteners, such as sugar, corn syrups, and others. Additional ingredients can include fruits, nuts, candies, and variegates made from the aforementioned.

Gelato is the Italian word for “ice cream”. It is an intensely flavored frozen dessert that has a lower percentage of fat and does not contain as much air. Because it is denser, the flavors are more pronounced allowing an even larger variety of flavors.
A frozen, whipped water ice containing fruit flavors, similar in texture to the old-fashioned snow cone. Slush is available in a limitless array of flavors and colors.
These are creations of varied shapes and sizes made from ice cream, using molds and handling techniques to create the shapes. They can include sticks or cones to facilitate holding in the hand. Usually, these creations are designed to be individual servings. However, cakes and pies can be considered novelties because of their specialized nature, although they serve more than one individual. Flavors and shapes are up to the customer's imagination.
Slightly more solid than slush, containing fruits and nuts, frappe makes a refreshing dessert or appetizer and is available in all flavors and colors. The Fendall's version contains crushed pineapple, but other items can be added for additional costs.
Fendall's makes non-carbonated punches available in all popular fruit flavors, as well as any tropical fruit which is in season. Also available is punch base which can be mixed on site by the customer for more economical transport and storage.

It can also contain liqueurs or other alcoholic ingredients to enhance flavors and textures. Sorbet creations have no limitations as to flavor, and are dependent only on the imagination of the chef.
Yogurt
Frozen yogurt is a relatively new product which is made from bacterially processed dairy ingredients. Originally, yogurt was a soured goat's milk and cream drink which was said to have great health values. During the last twenty years, frozen dessert manufacturers have made it into a popular dessert and health food. Flavors are enhanced by adding fruit and other natural ingredients.

Essay Contest
To celebrate our centennial, we are having a monthly essay contest about an experience you have had with ice cream. A winner will be announced each month. The monthly recipients will receive five half gallons of ice cream. At the end of the year, the top essay from among the 12 best essays will receive one gallon of ice cream each month for one year. The entry fee for the monthly contests will be $5 to be included with each entry. There is no limit to the number of essays entered.
